Saira Bano, spokesperson of Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) and MNA has refused to donate one month salary to Prime Minister (PM) relief fund saying she has no trust on PM relief fund.

“ I want to donate my one month salary to Al-khidmat Foundation or GDC Foundation as I have no trust on PM relief fund, she said this in a letter addressed to Raja Pervez Ashraf, speaker National Assembly (NA) here Thursday.

She stated in her letter the country is facing the worst ever flood situation at present and the affectees are in dire need of relief and rehabilitation on emergent basis.

The letter added heads of different organizations are collecting funds for flood victims but the time will tell the funds were distributed equitably and transparently to what extent. Like wise speaker NA has deducted one month salary of MNAs so that these could be donated to PM relief fund.

While deducting the salary neither the respective MNAs were consulted nor was their willingness ascertained. Even parliamentary parties were not consulted in respect of the funds which has been set up in haste. The questions are being raised on the transparency and monitoring of these funds being raised due to this reason.

She further said it is right of every MNA to donate funds to his trusted organization as per his will. Therefore, my one month salary be distributed equally among Al-Khidmat and GDC foundation and receipt to this effect be given to me.

When contacted Saira Bano told Online “ I have written a letter to speaker NA, Auditor General and secretary NA that my salary be not donated to PM relief fund as I have no trust on it.

She continued “ on the other hand speaker NA Raja Pervez Ashraf squandered relentlessly Rs 750 million in the name of diamond jubilee. Grand sons were brought in the house to deliver speeches. Dance was organized. Had this all amount been spent to help the flood victims then the crisis like situation would not have emerged.

My salary is my will. I don’t want my salary is used against my will. If it is done so then I will not sit mute, she cautioned.
