Law minister Azam Nazir Tarar has said “ I am saying as a lawyer this petition has been dismissed with 4-3 ratio.
He said this while reacting to Supreme Court (SC) decision in polls date case here Wednesday.
He held “ SC decision with reference to polls has not been received so far. It has reached me through TV. I can not comment on it being a law minister till written order is read by me and decision discussed in cabinet meeting.
He underlined being a lawyer I will say this petition has been dismissed with 4-3 ratio. Earlier Justice Yahya and Justice Athar Minallah had differed from suo motu notice.
In the decision two justices have further said this case is not maintainable.
I am saying this as lawyer and not in the capacity of minister that this petition has been dismissed with 4-3 ratio. This petition should be decided in Lahore High Court and Peshawar High Court where the petitions have been filed in this regard.
