ISLAMABAD: Muhammad Shakeel Munir, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) has called upon the government to take urgent measures to fix the economy as the major economic indicators are not showing encouraging trends due to which the investors can lose interest in the economy. He said that the benchmark KSE-100 index has shed over 1,447 points in one day while the dollar continued its flight towards record levels against the rupee. He said that Pakistan’s trade deficit has crossed US$ 39 billion in the first 10 months of the current fiscal year, as the volume of imports has doubled than the surge in exports, which should be a cause of serious concerns for the policymakers.
