While the administration of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) is busy around the clock to provide the best facilities to the citizens, vigorous measures are also being taken to promote the economy. In this regard, an MoU was signed between Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Islamabad Chamber of Commerce on Friday.
Under this MoU, male and female public toilets established in different commercial centers of Islamabad will be handed over to Islamabad Chamber of Commerce so that the families coming for the purpose of shopping do not have to face any kind of problem.
According to the details, these toilets have been constructed at suitable places connected to various commercial centers and hospitals. Each unit has 10 public toilets including 5 female and 5 male. It should be noted that all the constructed public toilets will be equipped with modern facilities so that the families coming for the purpose of shopping in the commercial centers do not have to face any kind of difficulties.
It should be noted that under this MoU, the administration of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce will be responsible for the construction and repair of all these public toilets, workers’ salaries, sanitation and other arrangements. While the land of toilets will remain the property of CDA.
Similarly, the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce will use the said toilets only for public welfare and will never be allowed to use this land for any other purpose, otherwise the MoU can be canceled at any time.
On this occasion, the Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) directed the concerned departments to regularly visit these public toilets and also keep a detailed review of the facilities provided to the public in order to ensure the provision of the best facilities to the citizens.
On this occasion, the business community hailed the agreement between CDA and Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and expressed their determination that this agreement will not only promote the economy but also provide a good environment to the consumers.
He further said that the construction of public toilets in commercial centers was the need at present because due to the lack of these facilities, families started turning to shopping malls because all these facilities were available there, but now all these facilities are available to families in the commercial centers as well, which has strong potential to boost the economy.
