Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza on Monday visited Imambargah Asna Ashari, G-6, to review security arrangements ahead of the main Chehlum procession, directing police officers to remain on high alert, ensure strict checking and maintain foolproof security until the conclusion of the procession.
An ICT Police spokesperson told APP that the SSP Qazi reviewed the overall security and operational arrangements at the Imambargah and met the organisers as well as police officers deployed on security duty.
Qazi discussed measures to ensure the peaceful conduct of the procession and stressed close coordination between the police and organisers throughout the event.
He directed officers to remain fully vigilant, ensure effective checking of participants and perform their duties with professionalism and dedication to safeguard the lives and property of mourners.
The SSP Qazi also instructed the officers to maintain a high level of alertness until the peaceful conclusion of the procession and ensure that all security measures were implemented in letter and spirit.
ICT Police had put comprehensive security arrangements in place for the main Chehlum procession and would continue close monitoring to ensure the event concluded peacefully without any untoward incident.
