Asad Umar is trying to complicate the matter: official sources

ISLAMABAD : PTI Secretary General Asad Umar has termed the allegations from ISPR against Imran Khan baseless saying if ISPR wants to know what is insult of martyrs and institution then it should listen the very speech of the incumbent defence minister Khawaja Asif in National Assembly (NA) wherein he has claimed that army has pulled the flesh from the bones of the nation.

Asad Umar raised the question if no one of the institution commits wrong then why court martial are conducted. So far so that officers of general rank have been court martialed in the past. If they commit such things due to which they are court martialed then why the individuals can not be criticized.

He went on to say that ISPR allegations against Imran Khan are unfounded. He has never talked against the institution. On the other hand he has always talked of fortifying the institution. Criticism on the personalities should not be considered criticism on the institution.

On the other hand the official sources said PTI leader Asad Umar is trying to complicate the matter despite clear reaction from ISPR . Reply to the questions raised in Asad Umar tweet is already therein ISPR press release.

In fact ISPR has rejected fabricated allegations of Imran Khan. It is very clear in ISPR press release that such talks or mud slinging should not have been done. Give proof regarding the allegations or face the legal proceedings of defamation. Constitution of Pakistan guarantees every one to defend one self against the allegations . If some one is on wrong side then the matter can be taken to the courts.

Sources further said that the institution and its personnel cannot be separated from each other.

The institution has made it clear that Imran Khan is only leveling allegations and he will have to provide evidences.

The constitution provides protection to the institution and their leadership that they can not be subjected to character assassination.
