First ever in merged districts modern police Sahulat Markez(center) was opened here in Shahkas,Jamrud district Khyber on Monday.
Inspector General Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed flanked by Capital City Police Officer (CCPO), Peshawar Qasim Ali Khan and District Police Officer, Khyber Rai Mazhar Iqbal was the chief guest on the occasion.
IGP unveiled the plaque to formally inaugurate the center and examined the placed facilities including driving license, character certificate registration of tenant and servant, filing of public complaints, police school, control room and a special counter for women and elders to facilitate them.
Speaking on the occasion and talking to local media persons, IGP said that it was a great achievement of the police department to set up a modern center in the merged district of Khyber beside limited sources.
It is need of time to digitalize the system and efforts will be made to bring the former tribal region level to the down towns, he remarked.
He urged the police officials to serve the applicants while following rules of their professional duties and good behavior.
The center would be helpful to decrease the gap between the police and people, IGP opined.
He vowed that it was the first modern center of the province and more modern Sahulat Centers would be set up in other merged districts.
Sophisticated arms would be granted to the Khyber police, he added and said that a commission had been established to approve legal demands of the heirs of the police martyrs.
Serious initiatives would be adopted to provide equal facilities to the police forces of the merged district being enjoyed by police in other parts of the country.
Meanwhile IGP, Zulfiqar Hameed arrived in police line Shahkas,Jamrud district where he was received by the DPO,Khyber and other police officials.
A smart contingent of police presented him guard of honor and visiting police highup was introduced to the local police officials.
