Islamabad: Justice Athar Minallah of Islamabad High Court Tuesday heard the proceedings of case against govt’s ordinance regarding Higher Education Commission (HEC) and to restore Tariq Banori as Chairman HEC. The Court barred govt from appointing HEC’s chairman till June 29. Deputy attorney general Syed Tayyab Shah adjured the court for some time limit to submit the reply as he was summoned on a very short notice. The Court while accepting deputy attorney general’s plea directed him to submit his reply before the next hearing and to provide a copy of his reply to petitioner. The Court remarked that it cannot stop govt from temporary appointment as an important institution cannot be kept dysfunctional. Online
