ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued notice to federation in Chenab–Beas Link Tunnel case and Chief Justice (CJ) Sarfraz Dogar has sought detailed reply from federation. During the hearing of petition filed by Judicial Activism Panel, Muhammad Siddique Azhar advocate told the court this is matter of basic rights of 26 crore Pakistanis. . India’s plan for diverting the water of river Chenab is a grave threat to Pakistan. Our water security is under threat. Silence on the part of government is violation of basic rights. Indus Waters Treaty (IWT) be got implemented forthwith. Government should resort to international legal forums immediately. We request for court’s interference for the safety of water of Pakistan.
