Islamabad High Court (IHC) has summoned the record of all the cases which have been registered against PTI chairman Imran Khan to the extent of Islamabad.
PTI chairman petition seeking court orders for provision of details of all the cases registered against him in the jurisdiction of Islamabad came up for hearing before single bench of IHC led by Chief Justice (CJ) Amir Farooq Monday.
The CJ IHC while issuing notices on the petition has sought reply from the respondents till March 27.
Faisal Chaudhry counsel for Imran Khan said as many as 47 cases have been registered against Imran Khan in Islamabad. Islamabad police have hidden some FIRs.
The court remarked you should know that FIR is not sealed. FIR is public document and it cannot be sealed. Police summon for investigation.
The counsel for Imran Khan requested details of all the cases registered within the jurisdiction of Islamabad be provided..
The CJ IHC remarked “ I issue notice to the respondents to the extent of jurisdiction of IHC.
The court inquired from counsel of Imran Khan “has he read the decision of Azam Swati case. There is no law in place for providing the record of how many cases have been registered against any one. Cases against Azam Swati were registered in all over Pakistan.
The counsel for Imran Khan said if we are told then we will adopt legal course.
The court while issuing notice to the respondents adjourned the hearing of the case till March 27.
