ISLAMABAD
Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) Islamabad has granted bail to Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali Chattha in two more cases. ATC Judge Abual Hasnat Muhammad Zulqarnain has approved bail plea in two cases against surety bonds in the sum of Rs 5000 each.
One case pertains to fight outside high court and second relates to protest outside press club.
The plaintiff in clash outside high court case president high court bar Wajid Gillani filed affidavit.
The bail plea of Imaan Mazaari and Hadi has not been approved in controversial tweet case. In this case the petitions seeking suspension of the sentence have not been fixed in high court.
Justice Muhammad Asif of IHC heard the petition seeking early fixation of petition regarding suspension of sentence of Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali Chattha in controversial tweets case.
Lawyers of Islamabad Bar including Riasat Ali Azad, Zafar Khokhar, Ashraf Gujjar and others appeared in the court.
Counsel Riasat Ali Azad said the court had said on previous hearing that the case will be fixed soon. Faisal Siddiqui is our lawyer. He has to come from Karachi. Please give some date.
Justice Muhammad Asif remarked cases are fixed as per policy. When the hearing of the cases ends, we will tell you the date.
Riasat Ali Azad said record is too not needed in the matter of suspension of sentence. Our case is too this that the trial court can not change the decision as per law. It is requested that date be given before Eid ul Fitr.
Zafar Khokhar advocate said the petition regarding suspension of sentence is heard soon always.,
Justice Muhammad Asif remarked sentence is higher. It is 10 years. Had it been less than 7 years then we would have seen it.
Riasat Ali Azad said we are not saying this appeal be fixed but we are requesting for fixation of suspension of sentence. I again request to fix the case before Eid.
Zafar Khokhar advocate while requesting the court to fix the case said the whole bar is standing before you.
Upon it Justice Muhammad Asif remarked “ Inshallah we see it.
