The imam of the mosque was martyred in the shooting incident in the American state of New Jersey. According to a foreign news agency, Imam Hassan Sharif was targeted outside the mosque in the city of Newark, New Jersey, USA. The assailants fled after firing.
Police officials said that the investigation into the incident outside the mosque is ongoing. Hasan Sharif was serving as a transportation security officer at Newark International Airport since 2006.
After the firing, a heavy police force has been deployed outside the mosque.
