ISLAMABAD: Amicus curie Anwar Mansoor Khan has told Federal Shairat Court (FSC) that IMF has said the system can run without interest. He said this while giving arguments during the hearing of petitions seeking elimination of the interest here Friday in FSC. He took the plea the direction laid down in the constitution for elimination of interest is direct. There is no room for conventional banking in the country. State Bank direction is correct but government is impediment on the way. World is going away from the interest and IMF too is saying the system can run without interest. A 3-member bench of FSC headed by Chief Justice FSC Justice Muhammad Noor Meskanzei and comprising Justice Syed Muhammad Anwer and Justice Khadim Hussain M Sheikh took up the petitions for hearing Friday.
During the course of hearing JI leader Prof Ibrahim took the plea court should give timeline to the government to prove its objections. Government is not prepared to accept banking interest as Riba. It has been proved that banking interest is Riba.
Justice Muhammad Meskanzai remarked all the respondents will be heard after Attorney General (AG) arguments. If a deficiency is found in any matter then the reply will be obtained by placing questions before the respondents. It will be tried to wrap up the case as soon as possible.

The court while adjourning the hearing of the case till December 09 has praised Anwar Mansoor Khan for assisting the court.
