Former Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid said Monday the International Monetary Fund (IMF) was not releasing its due tranche to Pakistan despite the PML-N-led coalition government’s “implores”. In his statement on Twitter, the Awami Muslim League (AML) chairman said country’s foreign exchange reserves had crumpled to only 9 billion dollars. Shiekh Rashid said Pakistan’s exit from the Financial Action Task Force’s (FATF) ‘grey list’ was not finalized yet. “Their [government’s] own cases as well as poor’s bread and butter are also vanishing,” he said.
