RAWALPINDI
Former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Saturday filed a petition in the court of Official Secrets Act, seeking order to Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail superintendent to arrange his talk with his sons on WhatsApp every Saturday since it was his right to talk to his offspring.
In the petition filed by Advocate Shiraz Ahmad Ranjha on behalf of PTI chairman, it was stated that on the court’s order dated October 21, 2023, the jail superintendent had arranged former prime minister’s conversation with his sons on WhatsApp.
However, the petition could not be heard on account of the absence of Judge Abu Al Hasnat Zulqarnain.
Seven days ago, on October 21, on court’s order, Imran was finally able to call his sons Kasim and Sulaiman on WhatsApp from the Adiala Jail for 30 minutes. The jail superintendent arranged the call between 4:30pm and 5pm. It is stated that during the conversation, Imran’s sons, who live in the UK with their mother, became emotional. However, the former prime minister remained calm and composed.
