ISLAMABAD / LONDON
Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday claimed PTI Chairman Imran Khan was pressurizing institutions through his long march to “get the army chief of his own choice”.
“Imran Khan’s long march is not to bring about any revolution but to get his favorite man appointed as the Army Chief,” Nawaz tweeted on Wednesday.
“People have seen his revolution during his four years rule,” the three times prime minister jeered at his arch rival, adding that Imran was a “proven thief” in Toshakhana and Foreign Funding cases.
“Imran Khan himself proved to be the biggest thief in history with undeniable evidence of foreign funding, toshakhana and robbery of 50 billion rupees,” he concluded.
Country’s political temperature is on the rise as PTI Chairman Imran Khan on Tuesday announced his much awaited long march. In a press conference, the former premier had announced he would begin his march towards Islamabad from Lahore’s Liberty chowk on Friday.
