PTI Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan will be produced in court in Islamabad in connection with five cases lodged at different police stations of the federal capital. Islamabad police will escort Imran Khan from Attock Jail to the court in the federal capital. Two of the five cases are registered at CTC police station while one each of the remaining three are lodged at Sangjani, Ramna and Golra police stations. The Islamabad district administration has issued directive to the police to ensure security during the appearance of the PTI chief in court. SSP Operations has sought additional personnel from police headquarters and security division in this regard.
According to the initial plan, barbed wire will be laid around the court and entry o irrelevant people will be banned during the hearing. The Supreme Court registrar’s office has returned PTII Chairman Imran Khan’s petition seeking a court order barring his arrest in other cases after raising objections over it.
The registrar’s office objected that the PTI chairman did not fulfil three components of Article 184 while filing his petition. The registrar’s office said that the petition seeking personal interests has been filed under Article 184.
The petitioner did not resort to the concerned forum before submitting his petition to the apex court. Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf lawyers filed the petition on behalf of the PTI chairman to bar the authorities from arresting him in other cases. — DNA
