Independent and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf(PTI)candidates won local bodies by-election held in one each Village Council(VC)in Landi Kotal and Bara, subdivisions of district Khyber on Sunday.
According to unofficial results, Independent candidate, Miss Zalika of VC 2, Dilkhad (Charbagh) Tehsil Landi Kotal won the election by securing 656 votes.
Nahida of PTI remained runner-up with 434 votes.
In the same way in VC 22 Meri Khel 07 Bara, Wakeel Khan of PTI succeeded on Farmer councilor seat by receiving 205 votes.
Ziaul Haq, an independent candidate, remained second with 106 votes.
Similarly, Mehmood Khan of PTI won the youth counselor seat by securing 224 votes while Farooq remained runner-up with 87 votes.
Earlier, perfect security arrangements had been set up to conduct fair and free elections.
According to District Election Commissioner Shahid Ali, five polling stations had been established in both VCs among those three had been declared most sensitive.
Two separate polling stations were also set up for the women voters, he said.
Including 3827 women voters, a total of 8804 votes had been registered in two VCs, Shahid Ali said.
