India secures third slot as global COVID tally reaches 11.5m

India has crossed Russia to become the third worst-hit nation in the global pandemic as New Delhi announced Monday that it has around 700,000 coronavirus cases.
India said it has recorded 697,358 cases, while Russia has around 681,000.
The United States and Brazil have the highest numbers of cases; however, India’s tally is expected to reach one million figure in July. The number of coronavirus cases across the world has surpassed over 11.5 million while the pandemic has so far claimed more than 536,000 lives.

The United States tops both in number of cases and deaths with over 2.9 million cases and more than 132,000 deaths followed by Brazil with over 1.6 million cases and more than 64,000 deaths.

Over 6.5 million patients have so far recovered from the disease across the world. TLTP
