A significant increase in intercity travel, ride-hailing, and delivery services is expected across Pakistan during the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr 2026 holidays, according to recent data insights from inDrive.
As Ramadan enters its final days, activity levels traditionally rise sharply, with millions of people traveling between cities to celebrate with family and sending gifts to loved ones. This seasonal trend continues to drive heightened demand across mobility and delivery platforms.
Data from the previous year highlights substantial growth across key travel routes during the Eid week compared to the preceding week. Notably, the Islamabad–Rawalpindi to Murree route recorded a sixfold increase, while Faisalabad to Lahore saw a threefold rise. Other major routes, including Gujranwala–Lahore and Lahore–Faisalabad, also experienced threefold increases, while the Karachi–Hyderabad corridor witnessed a 2.5 times surge in activity.
The data further indicates that during peak hours, users increasingly prefer peer-to-peer ride-hailing models, where fares are directly negotiated between passengers and drivers, offering greater flexibility during high-demand periods.
In addition to mobility services, delivery demand is also expected to rise significantly. On March 30, 2025, inDrive recorded its highest single-day activity in courier and grocery segments. During the Eid period, orders grew by 48.4% year-on-year, while overall deliveries increased by 17.25% on a month-on-month basis.
The data also reveals a growing shift toward multi-service platform usage. By the end of 2025, 33% of users in Lahore utilized multiple services on a single platform, compared to 24% in Karachi and 16% in Islamabad–Rawalpindi. This trend is expected to continue into 2026, as consumers increasingly rely on integrated platforms for travel, deliveries, and shopping, particularly during peak festive periods.
