President Arif Alvi said Monday that information technology empowered women and they were earning through IT while sitting at homes.
Addressing an event titled “Dastan-e-Sinfi Masawat” in Islamabad on Monday, the President said that Ehsaas initiative was working efficiently for provision of education to girls. He said that women’s education was of foremost importance to achieve long-lasting stability and development.
The President said government has launched a comprehensive program named Ehsaas to tackle poverty and ensure women empowerment. He said under Ehsaas program girls are being encouraged for education.
Dr Arif Alvi urged the society to play its due role in protecting women from harassment and other discriminations. He said despite Islamic injunctions women are largely denied their right in inheritance.
Speaking on the occasion, Member Provincial Assembly Sindh Rana Ansar urged the women to continue their struggle for their rights.
