ISLAMABAD (PR): Inspire Pakistan conducted an awareness session on road safety with the collaboration of Islamabad Traffic Police-Education
Department at Laraib Inn Islamabad.The main aim of the session was to spread awareness among Afghan refugees about Road safety awareness and traffic rules. In this regard, Islamabad Traffic
Police- Education Department exhibited a demonstration to the students in accordance with the rules and regulations that should be followed by students in everyday life. Road safety is a great subject for children, old and young people because everyone uses roads, and road danger impacts on everyone.
In occasion; Mr. Malik Matloob Ahmed Awan -SSP Islamabad Traffic Police, Ms. Ayesha Jamil-Director Station FM and ITP Education wing team, while from Inspire Pakistan Mr. Qaiser Siddiqui-CEO, Mr. Asif Shah-Project Manager and other team members were present.
Mr. Malik Matloob Ahmed Awan, SSP Islamabad Traffic Police highlighted in concluding remarks “Saving lives is our duty and we strongly believe that proper education in traffic rules and regulation is needed to be imparted on drivers and motorcycle riders, young children, and public in large which will help to ensure that they have knowledge on proper use of road and this will ultimately curb accidents”.
The session was held with Afghan students studying in different universities of Islamabad i.e. Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamic International University Islamabad, National University of Modern Languages, Iqra University Islamabad, Malali-High-School Islamabad, and Preston University Islamabad.
Through this session students were familiarized with the fundamentals of road safety. Mr. Sajjad Ahmed, ASI Islamabad Traffic Police ,also a speaker used several different training methods to engage students in a variety of ways to keep thei interest level high and encouraged everyone in the session to speak freely and candidly and share their experiences.
He used a presentation, videos, and facts, figures and demonstrated different safety procedures in his session. The session was given in Urdu and English both for the better understanding of the students.
Director Station FM Radio, Ms. Ayesha Jamil addressed to participants “every human being has the right to life and protection to his or her life and others as well. Despite this, the right to life in our country continues to be denied through number of factors, one of the more prominent causes is that concerning road accidents and negligence of drivers and pedestrians to follow the signs and traffic rules. I would just urge ‘you, yourself are responsible to protect your and other’s lives around you’.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Qaiser Siddiqui, CEO Inspire Pakistan said “I humbly thank Islamabad Traffic Police, honourable guest Mr. Malik Matloob Ahmed Awan, SSP Islamabad Traffic Police, Ms. Ayesha Jamil, Director Station FM Radio and their team for delivering such an informative and interactive session.
For quite a while, I have observed a remarkable change in Islamabad city when it comes to managing traffic and low ratio of accidents, for which the credit goes to the efficient team of Islamabad Traffic Police. The session comprised of speeches, interactive discussion, presentations, awareness session and refreshments.
