Intensity of ‘Biparjoy ‘cyclone increases, alert issue on Karachi port

KARACHI: Alerts has been issued on Karachi port in view of heading ‘Biparjoy’ cyclone in Arabian Sea. Article-144 imposed on Karachi coast. According Meteorology department 8 to 10ft high waves can occur on Karachi coast due to cyclone. fishermen were stopped to go into the sea. Chief Meteorologist Sarfraz told the cyclone is 770km away from south coast of Karachi and 750km away from south of Thata. Cyclone ‘Biparjoy’ is at the distance of 860km from east of Ormara. He further said biparjoy has became ‘very severe storm’ and becoming more intense. This cyclone system is heading toward north, speed of air in the centre of this system is 140 to 160km/hr. Waves of 30 to 40 meters are rising in centre and sides of this system.
