Inter-universities art exhibition held at Nishtar Hall Peshawar

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority hosted an Inter-Universities Art Exhibition competition at Nishtar Hall Peshawar here on Wednesday.
The theme of the exhibition was “Cultural Journey of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa ‘’ which was held to present the culture of the province to the world through calligraphy and painting competitions among the students of provincial capital universities.
More than 80 fine art students from five universities of Peshawar showcased their unique artwork which depicted a variety of subjects purely related to culture.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Secretary of Tourism, Culture and Archeology Department Muhammad Tahir Orakzai by cutting the ribbon.
He was accompanied by Director General Culture and Tourism Authority Bakhtiar Khan, Member of Board of Director of Tourism Authority Shamila Tabsum, Manager Events Hasina Shaukat and other important personalities were also present.
Muhammad Tahir Orakzai has said that the event was organized to promote the culture of the province while at the same time presenting the skills of students studying in these universities of the province and pursuing studies in the field of art.
He said that KP Culture and Tourism Authority has organized the best exhibition and more activities will be organized in future.
DG Tourism Authority Bakhtiar Khan said that in the first phase, the students of Peshawar universities were invited and their skills have been demonstrated while the same opportunity will also be given to other universities in other districts of the province. The senior officials of the Authority felicitated for their spectacular and fine pieces of art work. The guest also praised the efforts of the gallery for hosting such an art.

Fahad Ahmed and Kamran Sahib of the University of Peshawar (UoP) got first and second position while Sunbal Gul of Benazir Women University got the second position respectively.

In the calligraphy category, Misbah Rehman of UoP won the first position and Hafsa Gul got the second position.

In the handicrafts and sculpture category, Muhammad Asim of UoP won the first position and Mudassar Tufail won the second position.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority distributed Rs 20,000 cash and certificates to the winning students and Rs 10,000 to the second place students.

The exhibition has three categories: painting, calligraphy, art, and handicrafts.
