CHARSADDA: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Irrigation Department has launched an awareness campaign to address the issue of illegal constructions along province’s waterways. On Sunday, the department began displaying banners alongside various canals and rivers, urging the public to refrain from building near these vital water channels and to voluntarily remove existing encroachments. The campaign aims to educate citizens about the dangers posed by such constructions, particularly in light of potential monsoon rains. By encouraging removal of these structures, the department hopes to mitigate flood risks and safeguard lives and property. Deputy Commissioner Charsadda, Dr. Azmatullah Wazir, echoed the department’s message, warning property owners against the “malpractice” of encroaching on riverbanks. APP
Couple injured in gad cylinder explosion in Nowshera
PESHAWAR: In the Madina Colony Phase 2 area of Nowshera district, a husband and wife were injured due to a cylinder explosion. According to Rescue 1122 Nowshera, the control room received information about a gas cylinder blast at the location in Madina Colony Phase 2. Upon receiving the alert, a Rescue 1122 medical team was immediately dispatched to the scene. The explosion occurred in the kitchen of a man named Noor Al-Basoor. As a result, 43-year-old Noor Al-Basoor and his wife were injured. The Rescue 1122 team provided initial medical aid to the injured and then transferred them to Qazi Hussain Ahmed Medical Complex Nowshera Hospital. APP
12 children beggars taken into protective custody
MULTAN: The Child Protection Bureau(CPWB) intensified its anti-begging initiatives and rescue operations last week as 12 children were taken into protective custody. According to the CPWB spokesperson, children taken into custody included beggars, runaways, missing persons, and other vulnerable individuals. Rescue operations were conducted at various locations across the city, with additional support from the Child Help Line (1121), which received calls regarding children in need of protection. 2 alleged human traffickers held
LAHORE: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Lahore Zone claimed on Sunday to have arrested two suspects involved in human trafficking and visa fraud during the targeted raids conducted in Islamabad and Lahore. FIA spokesperson told the media that the accused identified as Naveed Tahir and Zubair Muhammad were allegedly involved in defrauding innocent citizens by falsely promising overseas employment opportunities. Naveed Tahir is accused of scamming a citizen out of Rs 1.68 million by falsely offering a job in Lithuania and Zubair Muhammad allegedly collected Rs 700,000 from another individual under the pretext of arranging travel to the United States.
After collecting large sums of money from their victims, both individuals went into hiding.
