Irrigation minister visits Amandarra Headworks

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Irrigation, Arshad Ayub Thursday visited Malakand and inspected Amandarra Headworks. Chief Engineer North, Ghulam Ishaq, Superintendent Engineer Mardan, Wilayat Shah and concerned officials. He was also briefed about operational matters of Malakand Irrigation Division Upper Canal Swat and Amandarra Headworks. He was told that 319000 acres of land was being irrigated by Upper Canal Swat and Rs 65 million is being received as revenue. He was informed that Amandarra Headworks was constructed in 1907. The minister expressed satisfaction over performance of officials working in Malakand Irrigation Division. He urged people to conserve water and added that its judicious use would help reclaiming land and increase per acre production. APP
