Chief Justice (CJ) Islamabad High Court (IHC) has remarked is there constitution in this country, is there democracy in this country.
Petition against police raid on the home of senior lawyer came before the single bench of IHC presided over by Chief Justice (CJ) Athar Minallah for hearing Friday.
The court remarked “you register cases of treason over the protest by the students. The treason cases should be registered against those who suppressed their voice. Is there any constitution in this country, Is there any democracy in this country;
The court ordered SSP Operations to investigate the case and present report thereof till March 07. Prove your good intent.
Shoaib Shaheen President Islamabad High Court Bar Association (IHCBA) told the court Police have uprooted CCTV Footage and taken away it with them.
SSP Operations told the court we received information there is liquor in the home and it is sold out therein too.
The court remarked privacy is some thing too. How can police storm into house. Is there constitution in this country. Is democratic government in place in the country.
The defence counsel told the court there is political rivalry and the petitioner is affiliated with Akhtar Mengal.
Police told the court FIR was registered at three Oclock at night. Arrest and recovery was made. The accused have been taken to present them in the court.
The court remarked police perhaps does not know the procedure of investigation;. If they used to sell liquor then some one might have come to purchase. We direct the SSP to investigate the matter in person. He should present report till Monday. He should prove his good intent in the arrest. Balochistan students should be heard. You register case of treason over students protest. The treason cases should be registered against those who suppressed their voice. It is not necessary that police should arrest every one. Supreme Court decisions are there.
The hearing of the case was adjourned till March 07.
