Islam teach us to protect women’s rights: IG Balochistan

IG Police Balochistan Abdul Khaliq Sheikh said that our religion Islam teaches protection of women’s rights and good behavior. Our social and family values ​​and traditions are the pioneers of creating a civilized society, where women are socially and economically empowered and can make full use of the opportunities and facilities available for them in all areas of life including education, health and employment by using their best mental and physical abilities and capabilities.
He expressed these views while addressing to Balochistan Women Police Conference held in collaboration with Balochistan Police, Parliamentarians Commission for Human Rights and USIP at Central Police Office. On this occasion, Executive Director PCHR Mr Shafique Chaudhry ,MNA Munawara Baloch, Additional I. G Police Jawad Ahmed Dogar, AIG(IT) Arsla Saleem, SPCLIPTC Aurangzeb, Professor Farkhanda Aurangzeb Member National Commission for Human Rights Balochistan, and large number of reps of International Development partners ,UN Agencies ,CSO’s were also present. Ms.Amna Kayani from USIP moderated the event .AIG Ms Arsala Salim welcimedvthe participants as Presents of Women Police Council..In his key note speech ,ED PCHR Shafique Chaudhry said
Women have a very important role to play in the development of the country and it is our the individual and collective duty to provide a favorable environment for women to carry out their affairs in the society without fear. Women should consider themselves safe
IG Abdul Khaliq Sheikh in his address as CHIEF Guest Said that . Protection of women and immediate resolution of their problems are among the top priorities of Balochistan Police.
It is our basic duty to ensure women’s dignity and respect and protection of chastity, economic independence and protection from sexual exploitation. Balochistan police is making serious efforts to give women their rightful place in all positions in provincial
Police ,Under which women can feel free and confident to perform their duties as police officers and also help other women in society in addressing their issues .
On this occasion, MNA Munawra Baloch said that it is our success that today we are involved in the women’s conference organized in the IG office, Quetta. She added, i am very happy to participate in this conference. She thanked the IGP Balochistan Abdul Khaliq Sheikh for giving his precious time to the conference. She added, although IGP present in today’s ceremony does not belong to Balochistan but he gave a lot of respect to the Balochistani.
Chief Executive of Parliamentarians Commission for Human Rights, Muhammad Shafiq Chaudhry said, women have a very important role in the development of the society.He added, the women council was first established in Balochistan at the provincial level in Pakistan. He further added that IGP Balochistan Abdul Khaliq Sheikh took many steps regarding the protection and rights of women.
Conference was divided into four sessions .. one opening session ..Two working sessions ..and one concluding session ..

First working session “ Issues of women police officers and their redress mechanisms “ was Chaired by Addl I G Mr Jawad Dogar ,..Second session “ Development of roadmap/ Work plan for newly established Women police council “ was chaired by Member NCHR Professor Farkhanda Aurengzeb .
Conference ended with adoption of a work plan for coming year and it was decided that a WOC support group will be formed to help WPC in achieving its various targets..In addition a mentoring programme will be started within WPC for encouraging n mentoring new women recruits and junior police officers .ED PCHR Shafique Chaudhry concluded the conference by highlighting key recommendations of the sessions and thanking all partners especially USIP and Balochistan Police ..
