KHYBER: Jamaat –e-Islami(JI)Landi Kotal chapter initiated a donation campaign to help the earthquake victims of Afghanistan here on Friday. It is to be stated here that at least 1000 persons were killed and 1500 injured when a 6.1 magnitude earthquake struck Paktika province of Afghanistan on Wednesday. Various teams of volunteers of JI in door to door drive collected endowment for the people of Paktika province of Afghanistan who have suffered in the earthquake last night. On the occasion of Jumma(Friday)Prayer workers were also deployed at the entrances of Mosques to collect donations from the believers to give aid to the Afghanis. Talking to the media JI General Sectary, Landi Kotal Murad Hussain said that as humanitarian basis charity collection campaign has been started and the Muslim brotherhood demands of the Muslim to extend every possible help to the victims of earthquake who are in dire need for shelter, medicines and food. He added that the financial support would be granted to the Afghanis through Al-Khedmat Foundation, Pakistan. Our Correspondent
