On the appeal of Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, protest demonstrations were held in several districts of North Punjab against the alleged U.S. aggression on Iran. The demonstrations took place in Rawalpindi, Attock, Murree, Chakwal, Talagang, Jhelum, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Sargodha, Khushab, Mianwali, and Bhakkar, where participants condemned the attack and expressed solidarity with the Iranian people.
Dr. Tariq Saleem led the protest in Rawalpindi, while Iqbal Khan led and addressed a demonstration in Attock. On the occasion, Syed Arif Shirazi and other district leaders also addressed the protesters.
Addressing participants in Rawalpindi, Dr. Tariq Saleem termed the alleged attack by the United States and Israel on Iran as “open aggression and global terrorism.” He said the reported martyrdom of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei would be a major loss for the Muslim world.
He accused the administration of Donald Trump of pursuing regime change in Iran and targeting the country’s top leadership, which he described as evidence of what he called U.S.-led global terrorism.
Dr. Tariq Saleem demanded that Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu be declared war criminals, alleging that the United States and Israel have imposed war on Iran and targeted its political leadership in violation of international laws. He warned that if regime change in Iran were to succeed, other countries in the region could face similar threats.
He urged the Muslim world to unite against what he described as a common enemy and said the message of Ayatollah Khamenei’s martyrdom was that Muslim nations must stand together to prevent further attacks.
Dr. Tariq Saleem also criticized Pakistani leaders who had previously supported the nomination of Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, saying they should apologize to the nation.
Speaking at the protest in Attock, Iqbal Khan called on Pakistan to withdraw from the Gaza Peace Board along with other friendly countries. He urged the Pakistani leadership to represent the aspirations of the people instead of attempting to appease foreign powers.
Iqbal Khan also demanded a transparent investigation into the alleged shooting of protesters outside the U.S. Consulate in Karachi and the resulting deaths. He stressed that it was essential for Muslim countries to resist what he described as the “dangerous plans” of the United States and Israel in Iran, warning that failure to do so could encourage further aggression in the region.
