Jirga assures DPO full support in maintaining peace in Khyber

A representative Jirga of the Malaguri nation held a meeting with District Police Officer (DPO) Khyber, Waqar Ahmed, and agreed to work jointly for ending old hostilities, promoting peace and eliminating social evils in the area.
According to details, members of the Malaguri tribe representative jirga met DPO Khyber Waqar Ahmed in his office, where detailed discussions were held on the overall law and order situation, resolution of long-standing disputes and eradication of social evils.
The Jirga leaders assured the DPO that the Malaguri nation would continue its full cooperation with the police, as in the past, to maintain peace, promote brotherhood and uphold the rule of law.
They emphasized that positive and practical steps would be taken to peacefully resolve old hostilities and grievances, with all segments of the community playing an active role in maintaining law and order.
Speaking on the occasion, DPO Waqar Ahmed stated that the Malaguri nation is peaceful and responsible, and that the crime rate in the area is comparatively low due to strong cooperation between community elders and the police.
He appreciated the constructive role of the Jirga in fostering harmony and stability.
The DPO further said that the peaceful traditions of the Malaguri nation and the continued support of its elders are the main reasons for sustained peace in the area.
He reaffirmed that Khyber Police will continue to work closely with local elders and community leaders to ensure lasting peace, eliminate social evils and strengthen the writ of the state.
