Jirga resolved old enmity in Peshawar

PESHAWAR A jirga on Monday settled an old enmity between two families of the provincial capital through dialogue. The jirga was held in the limits of Shahpur Police Station in which two families gave up thier enmity with each other. In this connection a special event was held in which police and other elders of the area participated. It is important to note that a special jirga campaign has been launched in Peshawar by police on the special directive of Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Moazzam Jah Ansari for resolving disputes and animosities between the citizens. The purpose of the special jirga campaign is to rid the city of hostilities and provide a peaceful environment to the people of Peshawar while ensuring peaceful resolution of disputes between the citizens. The special jirga was held within the limits of Shahpur police station under the chairmanship of DSP Chamkani Luqman Khan and SHO Shahpur police station Imranuddin. jirga leaders Malik Ishtiaq, Ghulam Muhammad and Irshad Khansaid that long standing enmity between the two families have been resolved. On the occasion, jirga leaders, scholars and other participants from both the parties appreciated the efforts of Shahpur police and thanked them and pledged full cooperation with the police in eradicating crime from the area and curbing other social evils.
