Jamiat Ulema-e- Islam Fazal (JUI-F) is all set to hold its power show today (Monday) in Islamabad outside the Supreme Court building, in a move to stage a sit-in against the judiciary for allegedly “favoring” Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan in difference alleged corruption cases.
Earlier a day, JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, who also heads the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) announced the protest sit-in would be staged at Islamabad following the release of Imran Khan by the Supreme Court in an alleged corruption case.
Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and other parties of the PDM have also promised Maulana Fazal their unconditional support for joining the sit-in scheduled to be held on Monday at Constitution Avenue in Islamabad.
The conveys of the sit-in from different parts of the country including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab and Sindh will start reaching the protest avenue on Monday.
A comprehensive plan issued by the provincial Ameer of JUI-F Maulana Atta-ur-Rehman for timely arrival of convoys from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a hold of the party of workers and supporters.
According to the plan, the JUI-F caravan would leave from the province under the leadership of KP’s Ameer Maulana Atta-ur-Rehman from Hakla Interchange on Monday morning at 10 am.
Instructions have been issued to district level leaders of the party to ensure their arrival in a form of processions.
The caravan of KP South Region would reach the interchange under the leadership of Akram Khan Durrani.
The provincial spokesperson of PML-N Ikhtiar Wali Khan in a statement said that the workers of its party would also join the sit-in of JUI-F.
He said that workers of the PML-N-KP chapter will leave for Islamabad on Monday morning, adding that provincial president Amir Muqam and Murtaza Abbasi will lead the caravan from KP.
The PML-N provincial chapter has finalized its preparations for the sit-in Islamabad and its party workers will leave from Peshawar Motorway early morning, he added and said that the movement for the restoration of judiciary has been initiated and urged the general public to ensure their presence in the movement.
PDM chief Maulana Fazaur Rehman has invited workers of all political parties to join the protest sit-in outside the Supreme Court.
Earlier a day, he said in a news conference that Islamabad’s protest sit-in outside the apex court will be continued until the Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial resigns.
Maulana, in a video message released on social media platforms, stated that the overall aim of the sit-in is to condemn the decisions of the apex court allegedly in “favor of PTI chief” Imran Khan.
He alleged that an unprecedented protection was being given to a particular political party in different cases of alleged corruption.
“The workers of all political parties show national solidarity against the favor of the court to Imran Khan in different cases and reach Constitution Avenue in Islamabad at 9am on Monday,” he stated.
It is pertinent to mention here that Maulana Atta-ur-Rehman has announced that around 10,000 volunteers of its Ansarul Islam force would provide security to the participants of the caravan from KP.
He said the volunteer force of the party under the provincial “Salar” Israr Marwat would provide security to the party’s leaders and workers during the protest, sit-in and other events.
