JUI-F threatens protest if election commission did not recounts polled votes in the constituency

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazal (JUI-F) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Information Secretary Abdul Jalil Jan has alleged NA-45 Kurram by-election was rigged and demanded recounting of the polled votes in the constituency.
Addressing a press conference at Peshawar Press Club here on Wednesday Abdul Jalil Jan rejected the results of by-elections in Kurram, adding that the record of rigging of 2018 general election was broken in these elections and the results were tarnished in the dark of night.
He was accompanied by Deputy General Secretary JUI-FATA Alhaj Ahmed Saeed and Information Secretary Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam FATA Qari Jihad Shah.
Provincial spokesman Abdul Jalil Jan said that JUI-F candidate Malik Jamil was defeated after compromising the transparency in the election.
He said that in the by-elections of NA-45 Kurram Agency, the local administration, Election Commission, RO, DRO and Presiding Officers played key roles in defeating its party candidate.
He said that in the by-elections on February 19, the people again gave a huge mandate to JUI but results were altered, adding that the constituency is being considered the hub of JUI-F but the party faced defeat due to extreme level of rigging.
While Jamiat candidate led by thousands of votes at 120 polling stations till last night but at the remaining 14 polling stations, the party retained its lead but withheld and changed the results in the dark of night to win the ruling party’s candidate.
Provincial spokesperson Abdul Jalil Jan further said that our vote has been stolen, why the Election Commission of Pakistan is afraid of recounting the votes, which is a violation of the role of the Election Commission and clear evidence of concealment of fraud.
The JUI-F leadership has demanded that its party votes be recounted in NA-45 Kurram or else they will start nationwide protests and also approach the office of the Islamabad Election Commission.
