NEW YORK
Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar has attended the opening ceremony of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Tuesday.
The theme for the 78th session is “Rebuilding trust and reigniting global solidarity: Accelerating action on the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals towards peace, prosperity, progress, and sustainability for all.”
The Prime Minister will represent Pakistan in the high-level meeting on the Global Development Initiative and will address the participants of the meeting. This meeting underscores Pakistan’s commitment to international development efforts.
Additionally, Prime Minister Kakar will take part in a high-level summit dedicated to the Sustainable Development Goals, a critical global initiative aimed at addressing pressing global challenges.
Prime Minister Kakar is also expected to meet with Iran’s President Sayyid Ebrahim Raisi and Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during his visit. These meetings are expected to discuss bilateral relations, regional stability, and mutual cooperation.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Kakar has been invited to a dinner hosted by United States President Joe Biden in honor of world leaders attending the United Nations General Assembly. This event provides an opportunity for constructive dialogue and engagement with fellow global leaders.
