ISLAMABAD: Karachi Bar Association (KBA) has too filed constitutional petition in Supreme Court (SC) against transfer of judges in Islamabad High Court (IHC) after Imran Khan and Lahore Bar Association. The petition has been filed under article 184(3) of the constitution. It has been prayed in the petition new seniority of judges of IHC be declared null and void. Notification regarding appointment of acting chief justice IHC be also nullified. The petition further said constitution does not give limitless powers to president with reference to transfer of judges. The step taken by President runs contrary to independence of judiciary and principles of distribution of powers. As per petition the powers delegated to president under article 200 (1) should be read with article 175-A of the constitution. The notification regarding transfer of judges is illegal and unconstitutional. ONLINE
