Says ‘Attackers’ on KP Assembly building to be taken to task

Condemning the ‘attack’ on the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly building by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) activists, Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has said that strict action would be taken against the hooligans.
Talking to reporters at his village during Eid, Pervez Khattak said that PML-N record showed that they had never respected national institutions.He said that hoisting PML-N flags on the building of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly was an unconstitutional and undemocratic act and manifested the PML-N disdain for democratic institutions.
“They always blame others for disrespecting the state institutions, but are themselves the ones who have attacked the Supreme Court and assemblies,” he added. Commenting on Pervez Rashid’s statement about the core committee’s decision on protest at Raiwind, Pervez Khattak said that he was part of the committee and no one had objected to the decision of staging a protest in Raiwind.
He said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was not besieging Nawaz Sharif’s home in Raiwind but the party wanted to protest in the town.“If somebody thinks that the entire Raiwind town or Lahore city is the PML-N leader’s home than visiting Lahore without his permission is also not appropriate,” he added.
The chief minister said that his party would not ask anyone to take part in their protest, adding that they had enough manpower to stage a successful and peaceful protest anywhere in the country.
The chief minister added that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif must reply to the questions raised in the Panama Leaks revelations. “The unrest-like situation in the country will continue until and unless Nawaz Sharif clears himself of his family’s wrongdoings,” Pervez Khattak added.
The chief minister added that his government had taken initiatives to put the institutions on the right track.“The reforms in police, health and educational institutions have started yielding results,” he said, adding, “We have now started launching mega projects in the province.”
