KhUJ calls for action against giving death threats to journalists

The Khyber Union of Journalists (KhUJ) has expressed concern over a video of an unknown person giving death threats to journalists for speaking against former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
A statement issued by the elected cabinet of KhuJ including Union President Nasir Hussain, Senior Vice President Imran Ayaz, Vice President Basir Qalandar, General Secretary Imran Yousafzai, Finance Secretary Shahzeb and members of the Executive Council said that the provincial government should take pragmatic measure against the person who hurled threats to journalists community.
The media has a major role to play in bringing the PTI to power; the union said and added that provoking Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers against journalists and media workers was tantamount to taking the law into their own hands.
The president of the KhuJ Nasir Husain said that the main task of the media was to convey the voice of all parties and every section of society to the people and the final decision of the people final. Such a video message will only create chaos in the society, he added.
Union leaders called on PTI central leaders, especially Chief Minister Mehmood Khan, IG Police and other officials to take note of the video message and take legal action, saying that the lives of media workers could be endangered if immediate action was not taken.
The Union also appealed to all media workers to be careful in discharging their duties in the face of such circumstances and to avoid unnecessary discussion.
