Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has beaten Northern by 169 runs in the final of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2021 and have been crowned champions.
Batting first, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa posted 374 runs on the board thanks to Iftikhar Ahmed’s century. Northern were reduced to 256 in their first innings where Mohammad Wasim and Sajid Khan both picked up four wickets each.
With a hefty lead of 118, Khyber put up 265 on the board before being bowled out. Mohammad Nawaz picked up four wickets whereas Mohammad Musa took three.
Northern had a straightforward task of chasing 383 but their efforts were stalled as Khyber’s bowlers put up a great display with Sajid Khan once again stealing the limelight as he took a five-for in 13.2 overs.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa dismantled Northern’s batting line-up and were bowled out for 214 runs, losing the final of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy by 169 runs.
