Former Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev has welcomed Virat Kohli’s decision to step down as Test captain.
“Looking at Kohli’s captaincy, it felt like he was under a lot of pressure,” he said.
Kapil Dev said that in order to be in the Test team, Kohli should forget his ego and play under the leadership of young cricketers.
He said that Kohli would have to keep his tongue shut while paying more attention to his game.
Virat Kohli, 33, shocked cricket fans by announcing his resignation from the captaincy after losing to South Africa on Saturday.
Superstar Better will be remembered as India’s most successful Test captain. As captain, he led the Indian team in 68 Test matches, winning 40 and losing 17.
