Indian cricket team’s captain Virat Kohli has said that overall environment and fans’ enthusiasm creates a different buzz in games between arch-rivals India and Pakistan.
Talking to an Indian publication, Kohli was of the view that Indo-Pak games create a different and ‘louder’ environment as compared to any other game.
“Yes, the environment is different on the outside from the fans’ perspective, it is definitely louder, definitely more excitement in the air,” he said, adding that apart from that, from the players’ point of view, “we stay as professional as we can and always approach this game in the most normal way possible.” However, Kohli said that his players take this game as normally as any other cricketing encounter. “I have always approached this game as just another game of cricket.” Kohli told Indian newspaper.
“There is a lot of hype created around this game more so with ticket sales and the demands of tickets and right now, the value of those tickets is ridiculously high,” he said, adding that it is all that he knows. India and Pakistan are set to meet at the ICC Men’s cricket world cup on October 24.
