The committee showed displeasure over the purchase of new expensive vehicles for senior officers

The Chairman Standing Committee on Administration Department MPA Zubair Ali has summoned the Deputy Commissioner Peshawar, Dir and senior officers of Administration, Local Government, and Finance departments over the issues of purchasing new expensive vehicles and use of government vehicles at different districts of the province.
The meeting of the KP Assembly’s Standing Committee on Administration Department, presided over by MPA Zubair Khan, was held at the Assembly Conference Hall here on Friday.
Senior administrative officers of Anti-Corruption and other provincial departments appeared before the Standing Committee and briefed the participants about the aims and objectives of their respective departments. The officers also informed the members of the committee regarding the future plans.
The Standing Committee showed displeasure over the process of purchase of new expensive vehicles for senior officers and ensuring proper use of government vehicles at the district level. The members of the committee also raised objections termed the answers and details provided by the officers of the aforementioned departments unsatisfactory.
The Chairman of the Committee on the request of Shagufta Malik, member of the committee, summoned the DC Peshawar, DC Dir and other senior officers of the Finance, Local Government and administration over the issue of purchasing new expensive vehicles and the numbers of already available vehicles and purpose of their utilization.
The meeting also agreed to make the Anti-Corruption Department in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) more organized and functional, including making immediate appointments to vacant posts.
On this occasion, Zubair Khan urged the Anti-Corruption Department to formulate a systematic and integrated strategy in line with modern times to achieve its goals.
The meeting was attended by the members of the Standing Committee including MPA Liaqat Ali, Zeenat BiBi, Shagufta Malik and Shafiq Sher Afridi.
Special and Deputy Secretaries of the Administration Department, Deputy and Assistant Secretaries of Provincial Assembly, Director Anti-Corruption KP, Assistant Advocate General, Section Officer of Law Department and other concerned officials appeared before the committee.
