KP Food Authority seized 10,000 kg unhealthy spices

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority sealed a factory at Hayatabad after recovering unhealthy and sub- standard spices related items from it.
According to details, more than 10,000 kg of non-standard and harmful spices were recovred from the factory.
The facotry was involved in manufacturing and producing unhealthy sub-standard ingredients including over-expired spices, banned china salt and harmful colors.
The operation was carried out under the direction of Director General KP Food Safety Authority Shahrukh Ali Khan.
The team of the authority inspected various production units in the area.
More than 10,000 kg of non-standard and harmful spices were recovred from the factory and sealed the factory.
The spices produced in the factory were supplied to pops and nimco manufacturing businesses. The owner of the facory has been arrested.
DG Food Safety Authority Shahrukh Ali Khan said that to ensure the supply of quality and safe food to the citizens, the process of inspection of food related businesses is ongoing.
He directed the food related manufacturing units to ensure the implementation of food SOPs, so that it is possible to supply quality spices to the citizens.
