KP Food Authority Seizes 975kg Of Banned China Salt in Peshawar Raid

PESHAWA: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority (KPFS&HFA) carried out a major raid in the Peepal Mandi area of Peshawar, seizing a large consignment of banned China salt. According to the authority’s spokesperson, the Food Safety Team of Town-4, acting on a tip-off, conducted a raid on a vehicle and warehouse, recovering 975 kilograms (39 bags) of prohibited China salt. Officials confirmed that legal proceedings have been initiated against the owners under the Food Safety Act. KP Minister for Food, Zahir Shah Toru lauded the successful raid and directed the authority officials to further intensify operations against those involved in the sale and production of substandard and hazardous food items. He also appealed to citizens to promptly report any businesses engaged in such practices to the Food Authority so that timely action could be ensured. APP
