KP food safety authority conducts operations in different districts

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority have conducted operations in different districts of the province and sealed a number of units and imposed fines on various hotels.
During the operation, a chips factory was raided, where the hygiene situation was found to be very poor, while chips were being packed in the name of other brands in the unit.
The officials of the authority sealed the unit.
The action was taken on the instructions of Director General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety Authority Shah Rukh Ali Khan. According to the Authority, various hotels in Charsadda were also inspected, and two hotels were fined for poor hygiene and use of non-food grade color.
Similarly, hundreds of kilograms of contraband China Salt and unhealthy food items recovered during various raids in Abbottabad during the last few days were destroyed.
In Upper Dir, various food-related businesses were inspected, and one shop was sealed for selling substandard and miss-labeled ice cream, and heavy fines were imposed for keeping overdue drinks and other food items from various shops.
