Special Assistant condemns arrest of Journalist Imran Riaz Khan

Special Assistant to Chief Minister for Information and Public Relations Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif has said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government was taking all possible steps to develop all districts of the province equally without any discrimination in developmental funds.
He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Mahmood Khan the provincial government has completed major developmental projects and enacted a number of public welfare oriented legislations.
He expressed these views while talking to a delegation of newly elected members of Kohat Press Club on Wednesday.
Journalists headed by former provincial minister and member provincial assembly Ziaullah Khan Bangash met with the Special Assistant to CM at his officer.
President Noor Muhammad Bangash, senior journalist Faisal Nadeem and Faizan Banuri. The delegation apprised the journalists and the Kohat Press Club of the problems faced. Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif said on the occasion that the provincial government was taking steps to solve the problems faced by journalists and journalism institutes on priority basis as well as to promote journalism in the province.
Mr Saif digital libraries and other facilities including provision of internet would be provided in the press clubs across the province, adding that arrangements for modern journalism courses and workshops were also under consideration.
He assured the delegation of Kohat Press Club that the issues would be resolved and said that the provincial government was committed to provide all facilities to all journalists in the province, including providing feasible environment for them to perform their duties.
The provincial government under the leadership of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan has been focusing on equal development of all districts, he added.
“ Under the PTI government, the province has reached new heights of development and prosperity,” he added.
On the occasion, Barrister Saif appreciated Ziaullah Bangash’s services for the development of his area and for solving the problems of journalists and said that Zia Bangash will continue to serve the area with the same enthusiasm.
Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif said that the arrest of journalist Imran Riaz Khan was tantamount to stifling freedom of the press in the country, adding that despite getting bail from the Islamabad High Court, the arrest of Imran Riaz falls under the category of contempt of court.
