67 closed and sick industrial units have been revived in industrial estates of Peshawar, Hattar, Gadoon and Nowshera

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government brought Rs 105 billion investment in industrial sector in one year, said Special Assistant to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Abdul Karim during a press conference.
Giving brief of Industrial sector performance, he said about 6911 employments were created in the last one year and about 53 new Industries have been established in Industrial estates and Small Industrial estates in the province.
In order to promote industrialization about 67 closed and sick industrial units have been revived in industrial estates of Peshawar, Hattar, Gadoon and Nowshera.
To equip the provincial youth with technical education, he said about 30,000 youth were trained in various trade and occupations, besides this 500 technical teachers have been trained and traditional out dated courses have been changed in to competency based training programmes.
The Special Assistant said that for rapid industrialization in the province, work on Rashakai special economic zone is in final stages and very soon ground breaking of the zone will be performed and sale of plots to investors will be started.
Special Assistant added that provincial government is keenly interested to facilitate local and foreign investors at all cost. Due to the investment friendly policy of government, investors are coming to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for investment in various sectors like cement, fertilizer and garments industries.
Special Assistant said that Provincial government is interested to Usher new era of economic and business development in Merged Areas, while replying to a question, he said that long standing issue of power to Mohmand marble city has been resolved and the grid station is energized with 220 MU line.
With this in Mohmand Industrial estate (Formerly Mohmand marble city) construction work began in various Industrial Units, he said adding Rs 1.10 billion Rozgar Scheme for merged area has been launched in small industrial estates at Bajour, Shakas (Khyber District) Dara Adam Khel, and Nawrak (North Waziristan) is in pipeline.
To a question he replied local raw material and work force would be fully utilized for the establishment of new Industrial Units in the province.
