PESHAWAR: The provincial government has introduced a new system for salary payments to government employees, under which salaries will now be disbursed directly by the Accountant General (AG) Office instead of through banks. According to official sources on Monday, under the new policy, salaries will no longer be processed via banks but will be transferred directly from the AG Office to employees’ personal accounts. In the past, payments made through banks often caused delays and difficulties for employees, with many facing late salary disbursements that led to inconvenience. With the implementation of the new system, most government employees in Peshawar received their salaries before October 1, while employees in some departments received them on October 1. Officials say this new policy has greatly facilitated employees by ensuring timely payments. APP
