KP govt intensifies efforts to control forest fire in Karak

Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Forests, Wildlife, Environment, and Climate Change, Pir Musawir Khan, has stated that the provincial government is utilizing all available resources to bring the fire under control in the difficult mountainous terrain of Karak district.
In this regard, teams from the Forest Department, Rescue 1122, the district administration, and local people are making concerted efforts to extinguish the fire.
In a statement issued, Special Assistant Pir Musawir Khan said the fire broke out in a mountainous area called Soka Sar Ghar, located about a three-hour trek from the village of Kando Khel in Karak.
It is an extremely difficult terrain, which is making the firefighting efforts very challenging. However, the provincial government is taking every possible step to control the fire.
Pir Musawir Khan added that officers from the Forest Department have also arrived in Karak from Peshawar and other districts.
Speaking about the causes of the fire, he said that, according to reports, some people had gone to the area for a picnic, and due to their negligence and carelessness, the fire broke out in the mountainous region.
He appealed to the public to exercise extreme caution when cooking at tourist spots and to ensure that fires are properly extinguished, as forests are a valuable asset.
He urged citizens to act responsibly and fully support the government in protecting the forests.
