Provincial minister for elementary and secondary education Faisal Khan Tarakai has said that 872 new classrooms are being set up under the Human Capital Investment Project in government run schools in different districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He was presiding over a progress review meeting on the Human Capital Investment Project here on Wednesday.
Besides, Special Secretary Elementary & Secondary Education, Asfandyar Khattak, Project Director Human Capital Investment Project and other authorities of the department also attended the meeting.
The project’s ongoing phases include the construction of 122 and 230 classrooms in phase-on, as well as the upgrading of 120 primary to middle-level schools and 42 middle to high-level schools.
Minister Tarakai highlighted the project’s achievements, including the distribution of school book kits to 1100 schools, solarization of education offices, and provision of new furniture.
He also noted the establishment of 387 girls’ community schools, enrolling 25,214 students, including 12,590 females and 9,351 males, with 499 hired teachers.
The project has also established 327 ALP centers, enrolling 9,727 students, and 150 double-shift schools. The minister was briefed on the ongoing training programs for school leaders, teachers, and CPD training.
Education minister instructed authorities to hold monthly review meetings and adhere to the project’s timeline, ensuring timely completion of ongoing work to benefit students promptly.
